1. Who we are
This service ("PSW Success AI") is operated by Soaad Ayanleh("we", "us"). We act as the data controller for personal data processed through this service. Contact us at support@pswcareercompass.app.
2. Categories of personal data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), language and province preferences.
- Content you create: resumes, cover letters, exam answers, interview practice transcripts, and prompts to the AI assistant.
- Usage and telemetry: pages viewed, features used, device and browser information, IP address.
- Support communications: messages you send us.
- Billing data: handled by our payment provider Lemon Squeezy (see Section 4); we receive only subscription status, plan, and limited customer identifiers.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Providing the service (contract): account creation, generating AI outputs, saving your work, delivering exam practice.
- Security and fraud prevention (legitimate interests): rate limiting, abuse detection, log retention.
- Service improvement (legitimate interests): aggregated usage analytics.
- Customer support (contract / legitimate interests): responding to requests.
- Legal compliance (legal obligation): tax, accounting, and lawful requests from authorities.
4. Sharing with third parties
- Lemon Squeezy (a Stripe company) — Merchant of Record for all sales. Lemon Squeezy processes payments, calculates and remits tax, manages subscriptions, issues invoices, and handles refunds. See the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers used to operate the service.
- AI model providers used to generate outputs from your prompts.
- Email delivery providers used for transactional emails (e.g. password reset).
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Data retention
We retain account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle disputes and meet legal obligations. Content you create is retained until you delete it or close your account. Billing records are retained by Lemon Squeezy in line with their policies and applicable tax law. Logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding your personal data, and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any right, email support@pswcareercompass.app.
7. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including Canada, the United States, and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege server-side authorisation. No system is perfectly secure; please use a unique password and notify us of any suspected unauthorised access.
9. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences (e.g. language, province). We may use limited analytics to understand product usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
10. Changes
We may update this notice. Material changes will be communicated in-product or by email.
